PERMANENT MAKE-UP AFTERCARE
HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR PERMANENT MAKE-UP
Post Procedure for all Permanent Makeup Applications
The following must be avoided for at least two weeks post procedure for all permanent makeup procedures:
-
Refrain from touching the treated area, unless instructions to do so are provided. Water-during showering or washing your face
-
Sun, Sun tanning or salon tanning
-
Increased sweating
-
Practicing sports
-
Swimming
-
Hot sauna, hot bath, or Jacuzzi
-
Any laser or chemical treatments or peelings, and/or any creams containing Retin-A or Glycolic Acid on the face or neck
-
No picking, peeling, or scratching of the micro pigmented area in order to avoid scarring of the area or removal of the pigment . Itching and flaking may appear during the first seven days post procedure. However, experience has shown that by following these after-care instructions, these symptoms may quickly disappear. The healing of deeper wounds might last between 14-21 days. Touch-ups and/or correction of the shape-design is recommended only after this period.
-
Once completely healed, always apply a layer of sunscreen SPF 30 up to SPF 50 on your eyebrows when exposed to the sun. Sun exposure might cause the color pigment to fade away more quickly.
-
It is recommended that clients have at least 6-8 weeks healing time between appointments. (minimum of 4 weeks)
eyebrow healing procedure
1. For 1 hr post appointment, blot your brows with a clean tissue to remove serous fluid. If the oozing dries on your brows, it’ll create massive scabs, and the brows will peel and flake like crazy!

2. Within a few hours post appointment, wash your brows with the handsoap or a gentle cleanser such as Ceravie or Cetaphil..
A. Wash hands
B. Get TINY bit of soap and some water OUTSIDE OF SHOWER
C. Wash gently in direction of hair. It’s a LIGHT swipe, just to help remove excess oil, oozing etc.
D. RINSE THOROUGHLY. Cup your hands with water and rinse to make sure all soap is removed.
E. Pat dry with clean paper towel
F. Apply balm (TINY AMOUNT, NOT GOOPY). The size of a grain of rice.
3. Wash morning and night for 10 days
4. Apply balm morning and night for 10 days (you will have enough left over for touchup) RICE GRAIN amount will cover BOTH brows. NOT rice grain on each.
5. No getting them wet other than washing OUTSIDE of shower. This includes shower, sweating, sauna, hot tub, ETC.
6. No direct sunlight for 2 weeks
7. NO MAKEUP. LOTION. FACE WASH. SERUMS. SHAMPOO. CONDITIONER Etc can touch them for two whole weeks. After that, avoid all products on them that include active ingredients (acne or anti aging products)
8. NO picking or scratching at scabs. DO NOT sleep on face!

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING HEALING

Day 1 & 2) The eyebrows are approximately 25% bolder and darker than when healed. This phase I refer to as “brow shock”. There is slight swelling. Your skin is red under the pigment which causes the color to appear darker and warmer toned. BE PATIENT! This will resolve.
Day 3) Eyebrows will start to itch and appear a bit thicker in texture. Natural exfoliation begins. DO NOT EXFOLIATE YOUR EYEBROWS!!!
Day 4) The skin begins to flake/peel from the outer edges first
Day 5-8) Color finished flaking off and new skin will heal over the pigmented area resulting in a softer appearance of your eyebrows. Color may appear “dull” for a few days until the color clarifies.
lip healing procedure
Day 1 ( Day of the procedure) -It is very important to remove the serous fluid from the surface of the skin in order to avoid heavy scabbing. Right after the procedure clean the lips with damp cotton (clean bottled water) every 30 min until bedtime. Before sleep if the lips still have some dry serous fluid then wash with lukewarm water gently removing the dry lserous fluid, pat dry and apply Aquaphor Healing Ointment (you can find it in any grocery store, kids section) -Sometimes the lips can bruise even after the procedure, do not worry, the bruising will go away within couple hours after the procedure.
Day 2 -The lips may be swollen the second day as well. Please do not ice the lip’s skin -Keep the skin moist at all times, do not let the lips to be dry.
Day 3-7 -Keep applying the Ointment as needed, means as soon as the lips start feeling dry apply the Ointment.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING HEALING

Eyeliner healing procedure
Day1 (Day of the procedure) -Oily skin cleans the skin every 30 min for the first 3 hours (total 6 times) after the procedure using a damp cotton (using clean bottled water) and washing hands before each cleaning time. -Dry skin cleanse every hour for the first 3 hours (total of 3 times) -Right after the last wipe apply a thin layer of Aquaphor Healing Ointment (available for purchase in any grocery store, in the kids section) -Before bed oily skin may wash using lukewarm water very gently removing the lymph, pat dry and apply ointment -Dry skin may not wash if the skin does not have visible lymph on top of the skin, just make sure your skin is moist before bed.
Day 2 -Oily or dry skin may wash one more time if the skin eliminated lymph during night, pat dry and apply thin layer of ointment. If no lymph then just keep the eyebrows hydrated with the ointment as needed, means apply ointment only when you feel the skin is dry.
Days 3-7-10 -Everyone’s skin has its own healing process and duration. It is recommended to apply ointment as long as the skin is still scabbed, and even after. The ointment will help your skin regenerate faster and better

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING HEALING

Day 1) Slightly swollen. Looks like you’ve been crying
Day 2) Swollen but only for 1-2 hrs. after waking. Usually looks better by lunchtime
Day 3-4) Swelling decreased but a tight feeling. The upper layer of pigment is beginning to lift away from the skin. This is normal as the skin begins to flake Day 5-8) The last of the epithelial crust is sloughing. It is normal to feel a little itchy. Color is a little dull and will take a few more days to clarify to full color.

AREOLA HEALING PROCEDURE
1 to 3 Days After Your Procedure
-
We will place Tegaderm™ plastic dressing on your tattoo right after your procedure. Leave this dressing on for 3 days.
-
You may shower normally with your dressing on. It’s waterproof.
-
Fluid may build up underneath your dressing. This is normal.
-
If your dressing starts to come off or if fluid is dripping from your dressing, put another Tegaderm™ dressing over the one you have on.
4 Days After Your Procedure
-
Remove the Tegaderm™ dressing. Gently clean the area in the shower with warm water and your normal shower soap. Don’t rub the area to get it clean.
-
Leave any scabs that may have formed alone. They will heal and come off on their own.
-
After your shower, dry the area gently. Apply non-scented white lotion (such as Lubriderm®, Aveeno®, or Eucerin®) to the tattooed area until it absorbs.
5 to 14 Days After Your Procedure
-
Continue applying non-scented white lotion to the area at least once a day.
-
You may apply lotion more than once a day if the area looks dry.
